Step by step instructions for setting up Facebook authentication on a ServiceNow instance. A great use case for this is a government portal to enable single sign-on for citizens who already have a Facebook account. This document is built on San Diego release. Configure Facebook Begin by going to the Facebook Developer Dashboard. Click Create App in the upper right corner.

Select Consumer (1) and click Next (2).

The good stuff just keeps getting better! As if Automated Test Framework (ATF) wasn’t handy enough, we’ve improved it based on your suggestions in the Community Idea Portal to make debugging even better. Background ATF is an in-platform tool to let you author and run functional tests on your apps (custom or OOB). Use it to ensure developer configurations work as expected before going to production and before/after upgrades. Once built, the tests are easy to run again and again.

The San Diego release brings us many powerful and cool tools in Flow Designer. Please, stop asking the question “When is Flow Designer going to have parity with legacy workflows?” We are SO past that point. Let’s take a look at a few of the new capabilities you get with Flow Designer in San Diego. Try Waaaaaay back in the Rome release (ok, last summer), we introduced a way to address failed flows, subflows, and actions with an Error Handler block at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks to Dhruv Gupta and Phil Swann for pointing me to a scripting API called HistoryWalker. In short, it allows you to move through the version history of a record. It does this by using the audit/history tables to generate a historical record. Let’s say your record has been saved seven times (see the field sys_mod_count); you can use this API to get a copy of the GlideRecord from any version of the updates along the way.
